This set will feature songs by our cellist Meaghan Burke, including some brand-new kids' songs that will leave the whole family humming.

6:15pm Erin Rogers & Gelsey Bell
Skylighght is the duo project of vocalist Gelsey Bell and saxophonist Erin Rogers, who have worked together for 15+ years as part of the new music collective thingNY. They cultivate a minimalist music constructed upon the organic acoustic vibrations of interlaced resonances and a mutual performer sensitivity.
8pm Juana Luna
For this special performance, Juana Luna will share songs from her album Canciones en Blanco y Negro along with new arrangements of tangos and Argentine folk songs. She will be joined by guitarist Darío Acosta.
9pm The Rhythm Method Set 2
For this set, we'll be presenting premieres of new pieces by our own Leah Asher and Carrie Frey.
9:45pm DoYeon Kim + The Rhythm Method
“Embrace of the Ethereal,” a new work for string quartet and gayageum by DoYeon Kim, written for The Rhythm Method, explores the intimate connection between human emotion and musical expression. This concert offers an early preview of the piece ahead of its official 2027 premiere.
This is going to be one of our most exciting Broad Statements events ever, and we can't wait to share all this new music with you. As always (as of the past few years), Broad Statements is a free event, and we'll offer some light snacks and drinks on a pay-what-you-can donation basis.
Broad Statements is an annual mini-fest conceived of and curated by The Rhythm Method in celebration of music by women, non-binary, or gender diverse people across a wide range of styles in NYC’s most eclectic, thriving new music scenes. By cross-pollinating these closely related (but all too rarely interactive) communities, we draw from all our audiences and expose our guest artists’ fan bases to music they might not hear otherwise. Additionally, by inviting exciting artists to present work primarily in solo formats, we create a platform for them to experiment and create brand-new work. Many of our artists have commented that the sets they presented for the first time at Broad Statements have evolved into full-fledged new projects.
Former seasons of Broad Statements have featured DoYeon Kim, Kavita Shah, Mobéy Lola Irizarry, Yva Las Vegass, Amirtha Kidambi, Laura Cocks and Charlotte Mundy, Odetta Hartman, Anaïs Maviel, Nicolee Kuester, Viola Yip, Wendy Eisenberg, Cecilia Lopez, Rose Stoller, Ava Mendoza, Leila Adu, andPlay, and The Rhythm Method.
